Wiedemann Steps Up
After finishing as the runner-up in the opening two rounds of the 2024-25 IndySlotCar Series season, John Wiedemann took the step up to the top of the podium at the Deckertring Grand Prix at the Deckertring in rural Theresa, Wisconsin.

· Joe Heitz is the two-time defending race winner at the ‘Ring, and is coming off the victory two weeks ago at the Mini Milwaukee Mile, where he made his season debut.
· The race winners of the first two events, have been won by drivers that have only made the one start.
· John Wiedemann enters the Deckertring Grand Prix with the early season Husarsbilt Cup championship lead having finished second at both the Fall Brawl and the Trokan Cup 500.
· Second year driver James Spehert finds himself in seventh place in the standings following his second career final four at the Trokan Cup 500, it’s the Team Spehert pilot's second straight final at an oval.
· STATS WATCH: Heitz’s win at the Mini Mile pulls him even with this week’s race host, John Shea, both have 15 victories, tied for 13th on the all-time list; the final four appearance is the 37th of his career, equaling Chad Sorce for 18th. Wiedemann’s Firestone P1 Award is the 27th of his career, breaking out of a three-way tie with Hall of Famers Larry Rotter and Jim Kaehny, with 27, sitting alone at 6th on the all-time Pole Position list. James Spehert became the 36th different driver in IndySlotCar Series history to win a heat race; his second final moves him to a five-way tie with Corey Galbraith, Ned Wicker, Dick Alpert and Lori St James at 32nd on the all-time list; the 420 laps turned at the Mini Mile catapults him to 38th on the Laps list and his 14th start advances him to 35th on the starts list.
