Race Notes:
· The Jackson 500 moves from the first half of the season to the second this year, Joe Heitz is the defending race winner, having set a new 500 lap record time.
· Heitz won the only oval race of the season so far, taking the Trokan Cup 500 over John Wiedemann, Dan Margetta and James Spehert also made appearances in the final. The Jackson 500 will be the second of five oval events this season.
· John Wiedemann comes into the Jackson 500 with a two race winning streak, 5 wins for the season and an impressive 115 point lead in the Husarsbilt Cup championship.
· The only close battles in the standings include the fight for fourth, where Dan Margetta and Joe Heitz are tied, Steve Rist leads Mike Lack by five points for six and Brad Core holds a two point lead over Matt Hayek for tenth.
· STATS NOTES: John Wiedemann’s victory at the Raven 250 is the 43rd of his career, moving to solo fourth on the all-time wins list. Dan Margetta pulls even with Mike Lack after his pole position at Raven to join the series all-time record poles with 55. Pete Dorn’s heat win and final four at Raven is the 23rd and 30th of his career respectively, moving to 19th and 20th on the all-time lists. Chris Spehert equals Mike Fitzlaff for all-time starts with 210, tied for 9th.
