The second race of the year was contested at Milwaukee International Raceway, due to the lingering weather remnants of Hurricane Gustav. Hometown driver Chris Spehert easily took the win in the first heat over Dan Margetta, Andy Spehert, and rookie John Wiedemann. John completed 36 laps prior to a spectacular crash and DNF, that left the driver dazed and confused asking everybody when his race would begin.
Larry Rotter held off a late race challenge from Tom Spehert to take the win. Matt Hayek would finish a distant third. Mike Fitzlaff would cruise to a ten lap victory over Ev Kamikawa and forty laps over Mike Kristof. In the forth and final heat race, pole sitter Mark Walczak would jump out to a 15 lap lead over John Shea and rookie Mike Lack, only to see it shrink to 3 laps over Shea at the end of the race
In the finals Fitzlaff would jump out to a 21 lap lead over Walczak and would cruise to a 13 lap final marker as Walczak tried but couldn’t make up the distance he needed dealing with handling issues. Larry Rotter would come home third while Chris Spehert would finish fourth.
