IndySlotCar Series Notes:
· This will be the 30th IndySlotCar Series event held on the Mini-Milwaukee Mile. Hall of Famers Ev Kamikawa and Dan Margetta share the record for most victories, with four each, a host of drivers have won twice on the bull-ring.
· Speaking of Mini Mile winners, Matt Hayek joined that group of two-time winners last season, having also hoisted the Blatz cans in 2019.
· Team PenskeHO’s Kamikawa comes into the second round with the Husarsbilt Cup championship points lead after his win at the Fall Brawl, John Wiedemann and Mike Lack rounding out the podium at the Road Course at Badger Raceway.
· With his 55th Firestone P1 Award at the Fall Brawl, Mike Lack broke a tie and overtook Dan Margetta to become the IndySlotCar Series top qualifier. Margetta passed the former record holder, HOFer/series founder Phil Cianciola in 2019.
· 14 entries at the Fall Brawl equals the largest fields ever seen at a season opener, last seen at the 2008-09 Papa Murphy’s Grand Prix at HO Road America and the 2006-07 Trokan Cup 500.
· STATS WATCH: Brad Core passes Rick Osterbrink for 27th in laps turned, with 6,049, just five more than Osterbrink’s career total. Second year driver James Spehert equals Mike Prelozni in career starts with 13, tied for 35th. Bill Black’s DNF at the Fall Brawl pulls him even with the beloved Tony Perkins with 21, 18th on the all time list.
