The longest road trip ever and the first race ever held outside the state of Wisconsi last year

came down to a battle between eventual winner Ev Kamikawa and Dan Margetta. Dan followed in the

shadow of Ev for most of the race, but when it came time to make a move at the very end Margetta

didn't have quite enough for a pass. Phil Cianciola made headlines with a spectacular crash that

left his leg burned.

Things to watch for this year ...

Last season race host Tony Perkins had the pressure of running a debut event

weighing heavy on his shoulders. Some of that will be gone this year, and this is his home testing track, so he could be favored to win the first race of his career in his sixth year of competition at this level. As defending champion, Ev Kamikawa needs serious consideration here as well.
